That reminds me of my first encounter with Florida palmetto bugs. I understand why centipedes are huge in AZ, but I never heard of any nuclear incidents in Florida, so I don't know how those roaches got so big.

Just watch out for the scorpians! I went to Tucson and then down to Sonora a couple of years years ago preaching in several Hispanic congregations. It is beautiful country in its own way (at least from October through April). You've probably heard of Homer Hailey. That was the country he loved.
I'm in Minneapolis and Beverly (my wife) says your book came in the mail. Wish I had it here since I've got some spare time now, but little at home. Look forward to it. Gardner

I guess you check your shoes in the mornings right? ;-) You could find some of those things inside living out there at least that is what I was told when I was going to be doing a mission trip as a youth minister.

Right after we moved into our house in Tucson, I was taking a load of clothes out of the washer and found a centipede at the bottom of the drum. I did two loads with the machine empty, thinking he was done for sure! I put a real load of laundry in the washer and when it was finished, I pulled it out of the washer and set it on the dryer door - the centipede fell onto the floor! At this point I captured it and saved it to prove I'd seen one in the first place, then we let it go outside, where the critter promptly climbed under a welcoming rock!
